Warm Up (15 mins)

Organization:

Two 8x8 Grids

One 20x35 Field Set Up Along Side

Instructions:

Phase One:

As Players Arrive, Players Are To Play Traditional Rondo

Phase Two

Option One |

One Team Arrives, 6 Players per Grid

Possession Game

Players are looking to score by connecting with a teammate outside of the 8x8 Grid.

Players looking to recieve the pass may only step out of the 8x8 grid for 3 seconds.

- Coaching Point: Checking Away Into Space/Checking Into Sppace

Defending team must stay inside the 8x8 grid.

Defending Team switches when team successfully wins the ball in box and connects the pass outside the grid.

Option Two Regression |

Teams Are Divided, 4 and Two In Pinnies

Possession Game

Players are looking to score by connecting with a teammate outside of the 8x8 Grid.

- Coaching Point: Checking Away Into Space/Checking Into Sppace

Defending team must stay inside the 8x8 grid.

Defending Team is working together, they score every time they win a point in the grid and can pass the ball to their other partner.

Players looking to recieve the pass may only step out of the 8x8 grid for 3 seconds.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Focus: Movement Off The Ball/Checking In and Out of Spaces

Secondary Focus: Recognizing Pockets Of Space + Decision Making On The Balll

Lower Level: Reading body cues of teammates to know the where and when to move.

Higher Level: Utilizing at 'fake pass' to open up space, deception while recieving.

Opposed Activity Two (15 mins)

Organization:

25x35 yrd Grid

Two Players From Each Team Begin On The Outside Of Grid On Width End Of Field

Four x Four In Middle

Instructions:

Possession Game | Fully Opposed

Four Players On Outside Are Passing Targets

Teams are working to get the ball from one target to the opposite target. 1 PT for wach success.

Player that passes to the target must replace the target passed to.

Target must enter field upon recieving pass.

Targets cannot play defense on other target.

Team that scores three points wins.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Main Focus: How to create space, Where space is on the field, Checking In/Out, Where to go after pass is made.

Secondary Focus: Identifying space to pass into versus passing to feet.
